Shawn Thierry is a principal of Hardwick Law Firm.   She has practiced law for more than 22 years in the areas of complex tort litigation, commercial defense litigation, administrative law with emphasis in the public utility and energy arenas, public finance, education law, and corporate law.

Ms. Thierry will focus her practice with Hardwick Law Firm in the areas of public finance, real estate and transportation law.  Specifically, in the public finance realm, she will concentrate on serving as disclosure and underwriter’s counsel on a range of public finance engagements on behalf of issuers and underwriters. 

In addition to public finance, she will work as a part of the firm’s real estate team which provides representation on behalf of municipalities, governmental agencies, education entities, developers and private corporations.  In this capacity, Ms. Thierry will work on the acquisition and disposition of real property, zoning, and assist developers on an array of projects, inclusive of hotels, shopping centers, commercial buildings, mixed-use projects multifamily and large scale single-family residential developments.  Further, her practice will incorporate the utilization of incentives to assist in providing funding for development transactions.  Ms. Thierry will continue her work in the public utility and energy arenas. 

Ms. Thierry received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Management from Howard University in Washington D.C. in 1991 and Juris Doctorate Degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, in 1996.  She is admitted to practice law before all courts in the State of Texas as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, Houston Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Lawyers Association, and Women in Public Finance, Texas Chapter. 

Ms. Thierry is a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 146.
